Life has taken me in many different directions but I always circle back to the arts and the joy of creating.  Constantly composing and breaking down all that surrounds me into elements of design, is exciting, grounding and has been  my survival.
My recent paintings of fantasy landscapes have undoubtably  been influenced by my work of many years as a garden designer. I don't plan or sketch out a route that a painting will take, but rather let the first stroke of color or collage fragment lead the way. Falling into the process sets the whole thing into motion and with each addition the piece takes on a life of its own. When the painting is finished with me, and as I step back to reveiw and unravel,  the title falls into place. The viewer is invited to have their own experience and interpretation.
